Outcome summary
How did it go? The assignment went well overall.
Change next time? The students had a lot of freedom in the topic they chose, because I wanted them to think about the way they use language personally. If done again, I would ask them to choose from a list of viable topics (generated by me) based on their personal interests.
Strength? They did a great job integrating their findings conceptually with the published literature. They worked hard to curate and process their data set of personal texts.
Weakness? They did not explore the functional space of Lexos as much as I would have liked. They also did not spend enough time thinking about the data set and analysis methods utilized in the published literature, when they were connecting their findings back.
